Born December 14,1883 in Wakayama, Japan. He started his martial arts training in 1904 with various old school jujitsu and kenjutsu style including Daito Ryu Aikibujutsu. He taught and traveled throughout the twenties and thirties. After the start of World War II he moved to Iwama, and there created a new martial art of Peace and Harmony (Ibaraki Dojo) "AIKIDO is learned through rigorous repetition of Aikido techniques--the body will teach the mind" - O'Sensei (Great Teacher).
