About Tatoian Sensei: While stationed in Tokyo with the Army, in 1965, Tatoian Sensei started training with Gozo Shioda Sensei at the Yoshinkan Dojo. In 1969 he was transferred to Sagami-Ono where he trained with Sugawara Sensei and began going to Iwama to train with Saito Sensei. After 12 years in Japan, Tatoian Sensei was reassigned to the San Francisco area. Following retirement from the Army he opened a dojo in Sebastopol, California in 1978 as a 4th dan. In 1993 the dojo was moved to Rohnert Park, where Tatoian Sensei teaches 15 classes per week.
DIRECTIONS: The seminar will be held at Womens Gym on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida. From I-75, take exit 76 at Newberry Road and go east into Gainesville for about 4½ miles. Near the campus, Newberry Road becomes West University Ave. When you see the UF Ben Hill Griffin football stadium on your right continue to the next light. Turn right on Fletcher Drive then immediately turn right again and follow the parking lot around the dormitory. The Womens Gym is the old two-story brick building just across the street behind the dormitory (Murphree Hall), next to the Students Recreation Center.
